Food Flavor

Here are a few pics of a Wal-Mart ad, and also a menu from a local restaurant just next to the hotel. They have a bunch of different counters to order from and then they bring it all to you and you eat. We have eaten there several times and most of it is pretty good. Meigan likes the custard (steamed whipped eggs - underdone scrambled eggs). We havn't been to brave to order alot of things, and since we don't eat meat we havn't sprung for any of the fried frogs, duck beaks, camel meat, duck blood soup, or intestines or stomach.

If you click on the pics they will go big so that you can read and see what is on the menu! Enjoy!

To give you an idea of what they cost, the exchange rate right now is about 7 (6.76) Chinese Dollars (RMB) to one US Dollar. So most of the dishes cost about $2 to $6 and some as high as $9-11 dollars.

Goodness! Eating may be a little bit of a challenge for us. Poor DH is a picky eater to boot! I think we'll be packing lots of snacks on our trip.
